At GOTR Palm Beach, we are creating a community of girls empowered to do their best, by teaching them skills they need to be strong, confident, and healthy women.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving more than 1200 girls since 2011, GOTR Palm Beach works to engage the entire community to positively impact the health and well-being of girls, their families and communities, and the volunteer coaches who serve them.
MORE THAN RUNNING
When a girl joins Girls on the Run, what lies ahead is a life-changing experience that inspires girls to know and activate their limitless potential. Here’s what makes the Girls on the Run experience stand out above the rest.
POSITIVE ROLE MODELS
Women with a desire to make a difference in the lives of girls volunteer their time as GOTR coaches to train and mentor the girls throughout the season.
GIRLS ON THE RUN 5K
This unique, end-of-season event brings together thousands of girls, their families, and community members for a celebratory 5K run. Crossing the finish line is a defining moment of the program, when the girls realize that even the seemingly impossible IS possible.
Running, stretching and team building games are woven into our program to inspire an appreciation of fitness and to build habits that lead to a lifetime of health.
GOTR offers 20 empowering lessons, delivered before or after school (only about $6 per lesson) AND includes free entry into a 5K event for the girl and her running buddy (up to an $80 value) ... All for just $195.00. (Scholarships may be available for those in dire need).
Research studies show that Girls on the Run promotes the physical, mental, social and spiritual outcomes that help prevent unhealthy and risky behaviors in adolescent girls.
Whether it’s training to run with your daughter in the 5K, cheering her on at the finish line, or reinforcing GOTR lessons by talking about them at home, there are many ways you can be part of your daughter’s GOTR experience.
A nationally acclaimed curriculum prepares girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living, with lessons on positive self talk, choosing friends, anti-bullying, nutrition and fueling pace.
Girls on the Run coaches use an experiential curriculum addressing the psychological, sociological, and emotional aspects girls' development and provide physical activity that trains them to complete a 5K run. As each girl sets and achieves small goals while exploring a wide range of topics, she develops and improves competence, feels confidence in who she is, develops strength of character, responds to others and herself with care and compassion, creates positive connections with peers and adults, and makes a meaningful contribution to community and society.
