Diane Evans was drawn to the mission of Girls on the Run Palm Beach when she learned about the organization upon meeting Lynn Martin, Founding Council Director. The emphasis of the curriculum on helping the "whole girl" -- the mental, emotional, social, and physical aspects of every girl - rather than just one part, appealed to Diane's holistic views of life and health. Once she saw the program in action, she was hooked. Diane joined Lynn's team as the organization's Administrator. In February 2014, she took on the responsibility of Director. Diane has an extensive background in administration, marketing, and finance in both the for-profit and nonprofit business sectors. She has worked in children's services, taught middle school, and volunteered extensively for various children's agencies and other nonprofits. Diane holds Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts degrees.

COUNCIL FOUNDING DIRECTOR
Lynn Martin
Lynn became involved with Girls on the Run due to her long association with the sport of running, specifically triathlon, and her desire to empower her daughter and as many other girls as she could. She learned about Girls on the Run in 2010 from Molly Barkers' book Girls on Track. Lynn immediately recognized the relevance of the program for South Florida. Lynn believes that discipline and a sense of accomplishment from sports compliment the program's character development. Lynn was the driving force for the organization from its inception until February 2014, when she resigned as Director. Lynn has a background in non-profit work as an active community volunteer, taught swimming and coached children's running. She has a post graduate degree in sports physical therapy from Australia, where she currently resides.
